OLD GEORGE

Hope Cemetery was the first Cemetery in Elk Creek Township. it was originally called Elk Creek Cemetery.
As it expanded... and was named Hope when they added more area, It has now expanded to the "new section" which is partly in Cranesville.
George Baird brought George here for memorial day, which was originally for Civil War Veterans. Eventually Memorial day was made to include ALL veterans. The Cannon is a Spanish American War Cannon. It was given in Honor of the Civil War Veterans. and faces South btw. Now it is for ALL the veterans buried in Hope cemetery.
